yoz!

had an excellent night's sleep...full 8 hours...well almost. but there were no unwanted disturbances so that's very good. I feel great! and it's the first day of school. Just sat through my first lecture on endocrine system...wah! this term is going to be terrible! GUNBADE NE!

right, so let me tell you about the fabulously eccentric way, my initially destroyed sunday was saved. Yes my friends! There is no better way to cheer yourself up other than laughing at yourself and your friends, and the best place to do that is at an ICE SKATING RINK!

heehee.....especially when it's your virgin experience.

Sigh....I actually don't know what possessed me to agree to going, maybe it was the foul mood
and the fact that I didn't want to be cooped up in my room on such a perfect day. IT was actually really sunny and the wind wasn't that bad.

SO midway through the afternoon at around 2, Kate pops by my room and asks me if i want to go skating and i'm like, ''Hell why not!'' Please bear in mind that i have never roller bladed ( well i did attempt once on rented skates and boy was that the last time i ever tried.) or skated, so really it was a reckless move, and i might have lost all my fingers, suffered a hip fracture or a concussion, but i was too pissed to really care.

so we went happily down to the ice skating rink by the beach, me, laura, nourah, kevin (laura's cousin) and Grant ( laura's boyfriend). We went in grant's car. we met up with kate and keith who had decided to just walk to the rink.

So we rented our skates, and off to the ice!
My goodness, walking with those bulky skates on the plastic mats was bad and scary enough, but the scary thing was getting on the ice. Haha...can't really account for much because i was basically wobbling here and there around the rink holding onto the railing for dear life and getting help from the more abled skaters here and there.
So here's the accident toll: fell on my bum three times!
BUT! I did achieve pretty much for a novice skater .... 3 rounds around the rink!

yup...so after we were done skating, we decided to walk back to the Halls as
grant and laura had to drop kevin off at his ship ( that's where he works).
It was loving walking along the beach, with the wind in our faces and the salty sea breeze all around us.
In the gathering dusk, the crash of waves and the cry of seagulls was really invigorating.
Apparently, you can see seals in the river Don. Was trying to seek them out in the purple twilight but was unsuccessful...maybe next time.

reached home, happy and sated.
Had a good night's rest.

Sigh... not too bad a turn around for an initially foul day.

We are having a fondue party at our flat this evening! YUMMY!
all the chocalatey goodness to melt the monday blues away!

Jaa ne!
