HI everyone!
Been back in Aberdeen for the second day liao...
Weather is fine but the wind is ghastly...but then again...
I'm not surprised.
It was a truly stressful trip back here....
Constant fear of having to pay for excess luggage
Having lost luggage
and the worst part...not being able to return to Aberdeen as scheduled.
Let me elaborate on that last point...
Well, the trip from Singapore to Amsterdam was fine
it was a rather different KLM flight because instead of having the
usual middle aged, oversized female stewardesses and handsome
young stewards...
this time it was the opposite: Young pretty stewardesses and Old, tubby stewards...SIGH....
Well so I arrived at Amsterdam at 5.30am in the morning and
was waiting for my trip out to aberdeen at 9.25 am...
Well....should have been a smooth transit but WAIT!!!!
At 9.10 we were all still waiting outside the gate and then the#
announcement came : Flight KL1441 was cancelled.
Bad weather in Aberdeen had apparently caused the Airport here to close
And it was not only ot aberdeen...edinburgh was also affected
SO about 300 odd passengers trooped off to the transfer desk
to seek new flights
I waited in the queue for 1.5 hours
before it was my turn and by that time the stress and the anxiety was
reaching breakpoint.
At the transfer desk the man tells me that i have been booked for
a flight that left amsterdam at 8.05 PM in the evening...
I almost screamed and collapsed but luckily the kind man
said that he would call and see if they could put me on an earlier flight
after 20 minutes of intense calling and a flurry of dutch
he finally managed to put me in for a flight at 2.10 in the afternoon...
BOY was I GLAD and so damn thankful...
And now I am safely here
Have had glorious and happy reunification with friends and
FLat 90 family..
hehe... perhaps it is possible to have a home away from home...
Well have to run and go back to the books
EXAMS On MONDAY and i haven't finished revision
SIAO LIAO LAH!
Oh...BTW...the reason for the closure of the airport at Aberdeen
was due to a Hurricane....
Sigh.... why am i not surprised....
