3:26 AM
Yesterday we had a family outing to the European Fair
that was being held on Union Street.
About 3/4 of Union street was shut off to allow for
stalls and fair ground rides to be putup. It's actually kinda like an Ang MOh Pasar Malam
BTW, this fair comes like once every 6 months...and it's comprised
of stalls that come from all over Europe
like France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Greece, Turkey (?) etc.
SO the dandy bunch of us got up at 9.30 on a Saturday morning after
a night of absolute stupor and headed off into town on the 10 o'clock bus.
First stop was the train station as Kate wanted to dump her
luggage. She was going to catch the 3.10 train to visit her sister in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon.
Then we made a detour to trinity centre so that Dana could get gloves to warm her hands.
And that was when the no.1 problem with family outings occured:
The Case of the Missing Child.
Well...I was the missing child because somehow everyone wandered away from the glove shop in different directions and I missed them
so I wasn wandering on the streets till they called me on
my handphone.
And we were all reunited....awwww....wat a fairytale ending.
So we proceeded onto the streets and decided that we could each take our own time to wander around the stores and that we would meet up
at Weatherspoon's for lunch at 1pm
Hmm....Okie so here's wat I bought from the fair:
A whole package of perfumes that was going at 10 £
A extra long woolen scarf lined with Rabit fur froom this french stall 10£
chocolate wafers from a dutch stall -£1.50
3 bars of medicinal Marseilles soap (france) - £5
A cup of giant King Prawns bathed in Garlic Sauce (i think it's a french stall...I was more interested in the prawns. :P)- £2.50
A giant spicy german sausage bun-£3
Sigh...really painful having to list all that I bought
But they're all good buys...so I'm happy.
Guilt will catch up later.
AT 12 pm I was found by Kate, Dana and Laura,
and they told me that they had decided to just eat at the fair since
there was so much good food....needless to say I
was one step ahead having indulged in the prawns...which I
magnanimously directed them to...
So after a tiring day of shopping, gorging and indulging,
we made our way home on the 1.45 pm.
Everyone was so washed out, we either went to bed or
like me sat in my room and watched ER till
6pm had dinner and went back to room to watch a DVD
on ''RAT RACE''
For those of you who have watched it, you must agree that that is one of the funniest most ECCENTRIC show ever.
My good ness think 12 comedians in one show, the likes of cuba gooding junior, whoopi goldberg, john cleese, Rowan Atkinson...
I'm thinking mad house...it was so HILARIOUS!! A REAL RIOT!
AFter that, went over to Laura's room and watched NOtting Hill..
was actually kinda disappointed about it,
because I was always under the impression that it was some kinda
fantastic, life changing show...
Well, it wasn't exactly a flop but I wouldn't buy the DVD...
Hugh grant was so much younger there...that sorta saved the show.
Okie...gotta go load out my laundry!
SEe ya!
