I just came from watching the best show ever!!!!
For now at least...but I think it will be for a very long time after!!!

I LOVE

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
Okie granted that the singing wasn't all that good
but still,
the screen set and all those costume was quite a feast for the eyes
And I quite liked the way they did a blend in from past to present
black and white to colour....
And it was just so nice to have my memory refreshed
All those lovely songs sung under par, but still recognisable.
Sigh....wish I could see ti in its original
stage production as a musical.
I must have watched it years ago when it came to singapore.
But I must say....
no one beats Michael Crawford in his role as the Phantom!
In this production you have Gerard Butler as the Phantom...
middle aged SCOTTISH ( Glaswegian ) guy, thinning hair kept in place by copious amounts of gel.
The mask they gave him was a tad bit small or maybe that's because he's
a big man.
But he did give a believeable performance and was quite nice looking
for a guy his age.
The character that I REALLY have to gripe about is : RAOUL
My goodness...it's as though in every single movie
you have to have some whiny sub-sub-sub standard whimperer
He acted like this pathetic freak
and frankly speakin it was quite painful to see him
attempt to sing and act all pitiful
paticularly in the last few scenes when he was cornered in the dungeon
and let himself be so EASILY overpowered by the Phantom
LoSER with a CAPITAL L.....
yup that was the most disappointing part I was expecting more
fighting, more action...but NO!
He enters and gets overpowered...the worst part is that
he could actually see the Phantom coming towards him.
Sigh.....
You just can't have your cake and eat it can you.
But still it was a lovely show, I wouldn't mind watching it again.
Maybe I'll catch it in Singapore.
Okie...let's see wat else is there to say about today.
Today was a really short day.
Went in at 9 for one lecture
Had surface anatomy then caught the Phantom at 11.30
(P/s : Today is the first day of the screening of the Phantom. YAY!)
Surface Anatomy:
This week it was about the abdomen so we were given
BUTCHER' s plastic aprons to wear
and we got crayons and started drawing the different regions
etc onto our aprons.
Sounds pre-school huh?
Quite fun really.
Then we got one of the fellas to sacrifice his body for the sake of science
And we started to palpate his liver and kidneys
and hear his gut sounds and feel his abdominal aortic pulse.
And that was that really.
I'm gonna head back now and immerse myself in DVDs and ER.
Sigh....NEED MORE SELF CONTROL!!!!
