Alright everybody, I've turned red. Pinkish red. Haiyah...to me that's a disaster with the sun. Can't help it. The curse of the fair. Ok, so today decided to have a little family excursion to Sentosa. HAd to fully max out the usage of our Funseekers cards, before they expired in August. To add an extra pizazz to the outing was the fact that in an insomniac fit, I suggested that we go there.

Haha.....14 hours without sleep brings out the madness in you.
Haha....so at 7.30 am in the morning, out the motley crew trooped...onward to the sandy, sculpted, artificial beaches of Sentosa. First stop, Maxwell Road food centre. Waited 30 minutes, for the cheap, famous and exces sively huge bowls of Fish porridge. Man....I've never been able to finish their porridge. Not that it's taste horrid, more like the amount is equivalent to the amt of swill fed to pigs.

( hmm....pigs swill....seem to remember an article where we were called that....pigs swill or pigs will??? Dunno...same thing)
Yeah, so after the morning top up, headed to Sentosa. Man....was it hot hot hot. Carparks were full, and half way through navigating the twisted lanes had to hand the wheel to pops, lest the sunday outing turn into a disastrous run into some old ficus tree

. So in the end, managed to squeeze into an empty lot at the resort. Haha...you sure do learn a lot from taxi driver. All the squeezing and agility techniques.

yea... so headed down to the beach. The long walk down to Palawan Beach was the beginning of sun trouble. It was
HOT HOT HOT.

The sun was up high and scorching. And there were so many construction sites around, the dusty smell of concrete and sand just didn't go well with the sea breeze. Talk about major vit D synthesis going on. Probably for my on good really. These days, I've become like some sorta vamp. It's rather rare to see me out under hot sunlight. I might just shrivel up and die when exposed

.
SO, let's see beach scene...rather usual. DHL family day, camping families, posers,....blah blah blah. But it's rather interesting to see that people these days are no longer afraid of showing their bodies in every possible state of flabbegation and gravitaional droop. Adds, to the the whole experience I guess. So after strolling to the Singaporean supposed southern most point in asia and walkind in the brown, warm waters, I decided to take the monorail ride around the island.

Point to note: My mom is a real stickler for personal hygiene and cleanliness and has warped ideas on sterile conditions, so it's rather strange to hear her consistently bugging me to get a dip in those kinda murky waters. Sigh...thankfully, adrenaline infused and sleep deprived me was capable of desisting the urgent persuasions

.
Okie...monorail ride.

HOT!!! in every literal sense. At least on the beach there's open space and the breeze today was cooling, strong and continuos. In the little cab cloistered with three others, stiffling heat, and I guess you oughta start panicking when the darn train starts to slow down to a crawl at each sharp bend. I almost felt like climbing out, and dangling myself from the roof. Alright, so along the route, these two jap girls came into my cab.
My goodness, if you thought the view outside was cool (figuratively), the type of cool gadgets they were drawing outta their bags were more eye-catching. the latest digital video cameras and recorders and ultra mini cellular phones. geez....it sure is great to live in a country where you're one of the first to get your hands on the latest installments in technology. yeah...so travelling with foreigners brings new perspective to the sights and sounds you're used to. In this case,it was kinda interesting to hear the merlion, beach, fort siloso, and ficus and coconut trees being described in a bevy of 'Sugoi sugoi!" and 'KaWAAAIII...' Man....I need new glasses.
yeah....well after the beach, headed back to the resort. There I passed out in the reading room for three hours. Heat and lack of sleep are a pleasing cocktail for insomniacs. the chilling aircon was a pleasing delight to burning skin. Awoke at 3.30...headed home. I was still too exhausted to drive. sigh....hate the heat.
Nights everyone....still kinda sore. Darn.
